The Twins Turn One!!!

Bryan and Jonathan turned one on August 19, 2008. I broke down and threw a small party for them the Saturday beforehand on the 16th. I didn't bother sending out invitations because I didn't want anyone to feel obligated to go or to send gifts, so if you're wondering why you didn't get an invite, that's why.
The theme was Sesame Street, although I didn’t decorate the house all that much for the party. I made two cakes, one of Elmo and one of Cookie Monster. Here are some of the pictures from that day.

Jonathan's First Steps!!

Yesterday, August 17th, 2008 Jonathan took his first steps. Both Matt and I were there. I had him while we were practicing in the kitchen and he stood there for a few seconds, then he took two steps and then sat down. We are so very excited!! Congratulations Jonathan!!!
Bryan's been getting very comfortable with walking and he's been walking around the kitchen and living room without any prompting. He has tried to step down from the kitchen to the living room, but that didn't turn out too well. Pictures or video to follow hopefully soon.

FYI - I'm really far behind on my posts, and I apologize. I still need to inform you all about the remainder of the Twins Tour, the weeks afterwards, and their first birthday party that I threw on Saturday the 16th. I'm getting there, I just wanted to spread the great news!

Twins Tour – Part Deux (featuring the Bevevino’s)

Our trip to Wilkes-Barre, PA from Glen Hope, PA went fairly well with only a few flare ups from the twins. The trip was approx. 3 hours long. We were greeted by many members of our immediate family before we even got out of the car. We missed them all so much! This Bevevino Family reunion (the Joe and Jane descendants) was the first one for both me and the twins. All but two members of the whole gang arrived at Bernie and Chelle Cassetori’s home. If I’ve counted correctly, that’s about 86 people – whoa! This is the family tree as it stands today.

There was a lot to do; eat, drink, swim, sleep, sweat, play volleyball, play horseshoes, play corn hole, or just talk.

We took the boys inside a few times to cool off and change diapers otherwise, we played outside and passed the boys from person to person.

At the end of the day, I tried my best to get everyone gathered for a family picture. I didn’t get a good one with everyone looking in the same direction, but I at least got one with the immediate family looking ahead.

We also did another 4 generations picture.

Our next stop was to Philly and then to Bethany Beach, DE
